Whether a friend recommended us, a specialist sent you our way, or you’ve discovered Maia Pelvic Health on your search for a pelvic health physio to provide answers and actions. Welcome!

At Maia Pelvic Health, it’s in our DNA to consult the research, then colour it with your life – your goals and dreams. Not in a vague way, more in realistic actions that make sense for your reality.

We aim to empower, not impress. With the scientific intel that whispers with hope, builds body trust and allows you to live life fully. Together, let’s light the path forward, ignited by your goals.

Here at Maia Pelvic Health, empathy guides everything we do. Because your vulnerability deserves space. You’re choosing to share incredibly personal information with me, and I don’t take that lightly.

ABOUT

Hi, I’m Michelle,
Clinical Director / Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

MClinPhty (Continence & Pelvic Health), MPhtySt, BClinExPhys

My career began as an Exercise Physiologist, working with athletes from various codes including NRL, AFL and swimmers and netballers.

Naturally, my patients’ wives began booking in during pregnancy and post-birth. I also saw female athletes returning to sport after having a baby, which I truly adored. This experience led me to complete postgraduate training, including a Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy, majoring in Continence and Pelvic Health.

Over my 10+ years of study and consulting, my approach has remained the same: compassionate, collaborative and trusting.

Genuine support is the backbone of how I approach pelvic physio. I have freshly founded this clinic with a keen eye for how we operate. It’s incredibly important to me that you never feel rushed, that there’s a sense of ‘space’ when we speak and that every patient is given total and full attention.

I’ve seen patients stop exercise because of prolapse.

Those who want children, but intimacy is off the cards…

Even people who love running, but urinary incontinence is holding them back. It absolutely breaks my heart.

Thankfully, through support and guidance, life lifts it head and nods. Thankfully, there are ways to move forward with confidence.

Here at Maia Pelvic Health, empathy guides everything we do. Because your vulnerability deserves space. You’re choosing to share incredibly personal information with me, and I don’t take that lightly.

As a small business, I am deeply attuned to you, your experience and where to next… I’m here with you every step. Every phone call. Every email. Every cup of tea. Every greeting. Every consult. Every action plan… (I could go on) it’s you and me.

I feel very fortunate to work in this area, and it would be my privilege to be a part of this journey with you.

— BEC

Hi, I’m Bec
Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

B Physiotherapy (Hons I)
M Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence and Pelvic Health) – In progress
Casual Academic School of Health USC

Bec graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from The University of Queensland in 2013 with First Class Honours, completing research in knee osteoarthritis.

Since then, she has worked exclusively in private practice, treating the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions. Over the years, she has developed a particular passion for helping people with pelvic, thoracic, and low-back pain.

With a background in teaching gymnastics and Pilates, Bec brings a love of human movement and exercise to her practice. She’s a big advocate for strength training and is especially passionate about supporting women to feel confident moving their bodies.

In 2016, Bec completed further training in women’s health and has since spent over a decade supporting women across the lifespan—helping them return to activity and live comfortably, free from pain, prolapse symptoms, or incontinence (bladder and bowel).

She is currently completing her Master’s in Pelvic Health at Curtin University, with herresearch focused on endometriosis management, and is working toward becoming a titled Pelvic Health Physiotherapist. Bec also enjoys teaching as a casual academic in The School of Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Patients often thank Bec for her warm, clear explanations and her ability to make complex conditions easy to understand. Her optimism and enthusiasm help people feel confident that they can get back to the activities they love.

Outside the clinic, Bec is a mum to two kids and one very scruffy Jack Russell. When she’s not chasing them around, you’ll find her with a cup of tea and a good book—or out moving her body in any way she can.
